Kent Kresa Joins Caltech Board of Trustees
Kresa joined the Northrop Grumman Corporation in 1975 and served in several senior executive positions, including corporate vice president of the company's Aircraft Group from 1982-86. He was elected president of the corporation in 1987, became chief executive officer in January 1990, and was elected chairman in September 1990. Before joining Northrop, Kresa served with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the Lincoln Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Kresa is a member of MIT's Visiting Committee for the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics and a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
He serves on the boards of the Aerospace Industries Association, the John Tracy Clinic for the hearing-impaired, the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, the Los Angeles Music Center, and the CEO Board of Advisers of the University of Southern California's School of Business Administration. He also serves on the boards of directors of the Chrysler Corporation and ARCO.
Kresa, born in New York City, attended MIT and received a BS in 1959, an MS in 1961, and an EAA in 1966, all in aeronautics and astronautics.
